Once a bed and breakfast, then a restaurant of grandeur, The Buckley House now has new owners. Joe and Julia Brown dream of taking a local favorite and turning it into a place that draws patrons from further distances while also maintaining the charm and history of the locally-loved location.
Joe Brown and the executive chef at The Buckley House, Thomas Hickey, first crossed paths while in Beverly, Ohio. While both were employed by The Cornerstone Inn, it was then that the culinary dream team was born. The two enjoyed each other’s company and aspirations during their time together, but all good things must come to an end. Knowing they would cross paths again, the two bid their farewells and were off on the next journey of their lives. Only a short time later, Joe was searching for his newest venture. Upon finding The Buckley House, Joe contacted Thomas and explained to him that this project would not happen if the two were not reunited. Hickey agreed to this new start and in a short spell has turned what was a favorite amongst many, into something more than both he and Brown would have expected. Priding themselves on their fresh, never frozen menu items, The Buckley House seems to be on its way to bigger and better things.
