Perhaps a "coulemelle" (in french)

These are (or were) everywhere in our yard. A mushroomer friend was here today, he said, sort of, "It's an inky mushroom, you see how they turn black s the get old [we were looking at one of the few that are left] ... but, um, well it could be a ... [repeat numerous times.]" So, you know, I still don't know. I'll keep on it.
