Looks like you made it to the east side as promised. Windy lakes is a pretty good walk, did you go in from Crescent lake? I can hear the silence there and smell the hot duff. Anyway, nice series.

I cheated a bit, and walked in from from the end of road 2154-372. It's the bit of road at the top left of this map

I walked in to the PCT and used it to go up the hill, then went east over the ridge. The only tricky part is coming back right close to the road, the rest of the route is obvious due to the landscape. I was planning to go back this weekend, but maybe not.

It's beautiful up there, and now probably covered with snow. I hope the snow line goes back up a few thousand feet for a while, and it rains buckets: it's too soon to stop visiting the crestline!
