Why these trees are so lifeless...I mean i cant even see a single leaf on it...
Is it because of the season..???

The trees are dead. This is in the middle of the Taylor Burn, the result of a large forest fire. This is on the crestline, where the soil is a thin layer of duff (decomposed organic debris from trees) over a rocky sand. The fire was so hot it burned most of the duff layer off, effectively killing the ground for a few decades.
Very spooky places, and this one in particular. Most of the burns I visit are springing back quickly because they didn't lose the dirt soil.
