“Many nereids, many dryads, where is Bast to be found?”

The secret you seek lurks just below the watery horizon, as even now Modulator (stunningly undistracted by a weichi fascination) tacks together the latest Friday Ark, number 97.

Nipping on his heels, far across the wet, comes WCB 59 at that all kitty all the time paradise of eatstuff.

Carnival of the Cats #123 will be shredding the furniture at The Scratching Post.

…and, over at Middle-Fork: Houdini Continues Consultations with the Water Goddess. (Since I managed to forget to let the Carnival of Cats know about it.)

Further scritching of the head, and a bit of “Use the Source, Luke” lead me to leave this comment at The Scratching Post inregard to what appears to be a cascading sequence of misattributed links:

Great Carnival, the spiritual theme is cool.

As is the transmigration of kitty souls: I see slightystan caught a domino invoving Far Cartouche, and now I see Bagheera has fallen on Houdini at Middle-Fork. I knew Houdini got around, but maybe Bagheera might take offense. Um, wait…

(goes off to count the black cats in the house)

Maidstone Pilgrim and the Unsettled Weather at Snag Boat Bottom Bend

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

Snag Boat Bottom Bend is a relatively new part of the William L. Finley National Wildlife Reserve, detached from the main area and located off Peoria Road just south of Peoria, Oregon. Peoria was an early metropolis, back when the Willamette River was the major travel route. It lost importance when the railroads, and then the highways took over. I spent a lot of time at SBBB for a couple years, driving by it twice a day on my commute. Its parking lot sits in the sun, so it is kind of nasty this time of year, but there is a field of young trees which will provide shade in a few years.

It’s a great place to catch cool clouds, sitting out in the middle of the valley with long perspectives in every direction. This picture went up today at Weather for Maidstone as an illustration for unsettled weather “rumbling away in parts of southeast England, East Anglia and southern England.” I’m very happy to see it hotlinked, this is a fun picture.

Thank you Maidstone Weatherperson, whoever you are!
