Our Maple Tree and the Price of Oil

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

This is an odd hotlink. I’ve been ignoring it by mistake, confusing it with two other maple tree pictures. This picture has two hotlinks and I see I need to make additions to the search engine filtering.

The big hotlink is at Price of Oil. This looks like an astroturf site, but I don’t see what it’s up to. It caught my attention in particular because my proud Oregonian Maple Tree is described as endangered in Vermont. The comments on this blog take you to a suggestion that your email will be warmly welcomed. It seems weird not to have comments.

Owell, I think I’ll watch it for awhile, and maybe I can figure out why this website seems so weird.

Thanks, Change of Oil!

UPDATE 28 Mar 2007 1437 - They’ve swapped out my picture for one at The Chamorro Bible. I wonder if they noticed that I blessed their use of my image, and only use unsanctioned images? The rest of the pictures are same, at least that I noticed.

Krissy Bobby and the Eastern Oregon Landscape

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

This Eastern Oregon Sky photo has been hotlinked on Krissy Bobby’s myspace page for a couple months now. Her profile is set private. She hails from Oregon, so I suspect she lives out in that High Country. I took this too many years ago to remember where it was, somewhere northeast of Bend.

Original Middle-Fork post

Thanks Krissy Bobby!

POE News and the Spider Eating Spider

Monday, March 26th, 2007

This is a bold jumping spider eating a little white flower spider. It’s up at PO News today. It has been hotlinked from Take It As Red simply forever, I get a few hits everyday, but the blog is long abandoned.

Here are two more pictures.

Thanks, Squeamish!

Panicfreaks and the Show of Hands

Saturday, March 17th, 2007

This is fun - the Show of Hands has turned up at panicfreaks again. It was hotlinked in August 2006 by Vacation214, and it looks like I never really saw it.

This time, they were googling themselves, and if you google image search for panicfreaks the first image is the Show of Hands.

This hotlink is second growth.

Kim and the Orange Dragonfly

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

Kim, from Chillicothe, Ohio, is using this picture on her myspace page. It appears to be part of her design, and not in a comment, I can’t tell - she has set the page private.

I took this in my backyard, then I got greedy and touched the tree limb. Off it flew!

Thanks Kim!

Injured Spider at a Korean Spider Party

Friday, March 9th, 2007

There are a bunch of very cool spider pictures on a bbs at djuna.cine21.com, one of which is my injured flower spider, poor critter, a speck of life now long gone, with the dubious consolation prize of immortality on the net. I took this in my backyard last year.

The site is Hangul, the Korean script. The page chokes babelfish, but the text under my picture translates as:

It passes between the rose petal the flower spider (Flower spider) of small one body. The photograph according to at the minute when it takes it was injured, the place one piece eye which it does crumples and it is same the position thing.

hmmm. Well, sure, why not.

Thanks, Unknown Person!

Celeste with Hand Prints All Over

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Celeste has started using these handprints as wallpaper on her myspace page. She is a self-proclaimed “dirty mouth with feet” and has excellent taste in music.

This photo was taken at Natural Bridges National Monument, and this is the first time it has been hotlinked.

Thanks! Celeste

Space Invader at Space Invader

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Space Invader is an eponymously entitled Italian site dedicated to that grand old arcade game Space Invaders. I was never much of a fan. At one job once upon a time several of us went in on a $100 Berzerk. It ended up in my office - I ended up being ungodly excellent at downing white-ning bright robots.

This picture is my nephew, a polaroid taken maybe 20 years ago.

Space Invader gives credit for the image, very cool. This places them in the rarified company of Blogisattvas.

Thanks, mystery site master at Space Invader!
